Welcome to my site. My name is Oscar Reuben and I am an artist working in London specialising in animal portraiture.
From an early age I was surrounded by animals of all kinds, and the passion I developed for them then has stayed with me since. I know our animals mean the world to us and there is no better way of celebrating or commemorating them than with a handmade artwork. Capturing the unique personality and mood of the animal is the key to a good portrait and so, as well as an accurate likeness, it is this element that I look for most in my work.
I choose to use a combination of charcoal and chalk on paper. I have found that the immediacy of this medium lends itself nicely to capturing the life and energy that is so much a part of why we love our pets. And it is my continual pleasure getting to know so many through the process of drawing them.
